In exercise of the powers conferred by Explanation to clause (26BB) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government hereby notifies the following communities as the "minority communities" for the purpose of the said section, namely :----
(1) Muslims
(2) Christians
(3) Sikhs
(4) Buddhists
(5) Zoroastrians (Parsis).
