The Directorate of Income Tax (IT) has issued the result of Departmental Examination 2010 for ITOs.The certified copy shall be made available by the concerned CCIT/CIT(Exams i/c) only. Before declaring the result, the concerned CCIT/CIT (EXAM i/c) are requested to verify the eligibility of Partially Qualified (PQ) candidates with respect to the no. of attempts and earlier subject exemptions. Similarly only those SC/ST candidates, who have earlier qualified the Departmental Examinations, either under the old pattern or the new pattern with relaxed standards, are eligible for availing "Betterment Chance.

The Directorate of Income Tax(IT) has declared the result of Departmental Examination 2010.The certified copy shall be made available by the concerned CCIT/CIT(Exam i/c)only. As per the present grace mark policy, maximum 5 grace marks in aggregate are allowed in one or more subjects to fully pass the Examination. However, for availing exemption only in an individual subject, a candidate is given maximum 2% grace marks i.e. maximum 2 marks if the paper is of 100 marks. This gracing policy has been applied while processing the result.

The Indian Income-tax cricket team qualified for Semi-Final of the BCCI Corporate Trophy.

The Indian Income-tax cricket team created history at Bengaluru on 3rd September, 2010 by qualifying for the semi finals of the prestigious BCCI Corporate Trophy by beating MRF by 5 wickets. Required to score 284 in 40 overs to get the bonus point so as to qualify for the semis, the Income-tax batsmen rose to the challenge and knocked off the runs in 35 overs.
Amol Ubrandhe (Tax Asst. at Ahmedabad), the wicket-keeper-batsman, top scored with 76. Openers Ameya Shrikhande and Hiken Shah both scored quick fire half centuries to set the tempo. In the first 15 overs, the team plundered 151 runs. MRF had former India players S.Sriram and Venugopal Rao in their ranks. Earlier, MRF made 283 in its 50 overs.
Hiken Shah was named man of the match for his blistering 51 off 28 balls.
The historic journey began on 1st September when the Income-tax team thrashed the star studded ONGC by a huge 171 runs. Batting first, Income-tax made an impressive 292 with openers Hiken Shah and Ameya Shrikhande putting on a century partnership. Hiken made 47 and Ameya 58. In the middle overs, skipper Amit Velaskar (Tax Asst. at Mumbai), Jay Desai and Bhavik Thakker (both Tax Asst.s at Ahmedabad) consolidated the innings with effective 30s each. At the end, all rounder Rohit Dahiya (Tax Asst. at Ahmedabad) plundered 56 runs off 28 balls. In reply, ONGC folded up for a paltry 121 after being 61 for 7 at one stage. The ONGC stalwarts Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli fell for 1 run each. Ajitesh Argal (Tax Asst. at Ahmedabad) picked up 4 wickets and Rohit Dahiya 3. Rohit was named man of the match. On 2nd September, the team lost a close low-scoring match to State Bank of Patiala by 17 runs. Chasing 219 for a win, the team got bowled our for 201. The semi final match of the team is on 6th September at Vizag (Vishakapatnam). It would be telecast live on Neo Sports. The other semi finalists are Air India, India Cements and IOC.

Intimation of Cabinet approval for acquisition of office space at Civic Centre by Income Tax Department of Rs.2007 crores.

Cabinet has approved the proposal for acquisition of office space of 54,518 sq. mtrs. plinth area,
with space for parking of 39,076 sq. mtrs., at a cost of Rs. 2007 crores. This is the largest ever acquisition
of office space by the Income Tax Department and will go a long way in alleviating the space shortage of the Department.

Indian Revenue Cricket Team to participate in the inaugural Corporate Cup

An Indian Revenue Cricket Team [a combined team of Income-tax, Customs and Central Excise] would be participating in the inaugural Corporate Cup Cricket Tournament being organized by the BCCI. The Indian Revenue team is being led by former India player Amay Khurasia. There are a number of current Ranji Trophy players in the team. The team is in Group ‘A’ and would be fighting for a place in the semi-finals against ITC and Air India(led by test star Harbhajan Singh)on 2nd and 3rd September, 2009.

The data of departmental Administrative Hand Book has been updated till date on the basis of information received from the field formations and transfer/posting orders passed by the CBDT. Some of this data, particularly of the officers who have joined the new posts on transfer/promotion is not complete. Further, some officers have retired recently or have joined some others post on deputation and full particulars in respect of such officers are not yet available with the Directorate of Income Tax (PRPP&OL). The data of the AHB as updated has now been put on the website with the request that all the officers including retired officers may kindly check up the data and suggest corrections, if any. Such suggestions may kindly be sent at the following address within a week as a supplement to AHB 2008 is proposed to be printed and supplied very shortly. This supplement will contain the updated information on the basis of data as collected by this Directorate after taking into consideration the suggestions received from various sources. In case, no suggestions are received from any officer/office, the data will be presumed to be correct and incorporated in the supplement as it is.
Information about any officer on deputation known to any officer may also be checked and appropriate corrections may kindly be suggested.
