Central Public Information Officers(CPIOs) in Central Board of Direct Taxes
 
In supersession of the earlier orders of even number dated 8.12.2005 , 20.2.2006 , 9.5.2006 , 18.12.2006 and 21.3.2007 and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5(1) of the Right to Information Act,2005,the Section Officer/Under Secretary shall be the Public Information Officer(CPIOs) for information pertaining to their respective charges in the Central Board of Direct Taxes.The appellate authority shall be the DS/Director in charge of the section.

2.For the RTI applications pertaining to (HQ) and Grievance section Dir.(HQ) shall be the CPIO and CIT(C&S) shall be the Apellate Authority
3.In case the Under Secretary is not available or the post is vacant then the respective section Officer shall act as CPIO. The respective JSs/CITs shall act as apellate authority in case DS/Dir. in charge of the section is not available or the post is vacant.
       This order shall be effective for all RTI applications received on or after 1st June 2007.
